Retirement Coaching Discovery Call
- Please feel free to contact me at any time by email: scott@thejoyquest.com
- We will set up an informal Zoom call.
Scott@TheJoyQuest.com
- 15-Minute Discussion: I look forward to talking with you, and discovering how I can help you,
- Please think about these questions before our meeting:
- Have you worked with a coach before?
- If we were to work together, what result would you like to achieve?
- What might be your biggest challenge?
Creating a Joyful Retirement Plan:
- Two packages currently offered; additional sessions available upon request.
- The 3-Session program focuses on:
- the opportunities and challenges of modern retirement
- Narrowing your focus on what is most important in a No Regrets Worksheet
- A dive into values and potential issues that might arise in your retirement
- And a series of exercises to pinpoint what may be the most important aspect of a positive retirement: finding one or more purposes that will fill your life with joy and accomoplishment.
- COST: $295 for three sessions
- Our fee is quite a bit lower than most life coaches because Helping Others is a major purpose of our own retirement. If the coaching experience is productive for you, please consider donating funds to help support a food program in an urban slum school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. See Ethiopia-Empowerment.
- COST: $295 for three sessions
- The 6-session program:
- goes deeper into purpose
- Develops a Comprehensive Plan for all aspects of retirement life:
- What are you going to do with all that time?
- How can we spark our creativity and curiosity?
- How can we plan for the most optimal physical and mental health possible?
- How are your relationships going to change? If you are married, how can that relationship change positively? How can you find new people to “hang out” with?
- Can we talk about money and faith? Yes, of course, but the focus of our discussion is non-financial, and I’m not a qualified financial advisor. I can guide you to free resources and recommend services.
- I’m always willing to talk about faith and spiritually as I think it can be an important aspect for many people in retirement.
- There is a “dark side of retirement”, and we need to be aware of the dangers so as not to fall into those traps.
- Other topics, too, can and will be discussed depending on your needs.
- COST: $495 for six sessions.
- Again, instead of any kind of bonus or tip, we prefer a donation to the food program discussed at Ethiopia-Empowerment.com
- The 3-Session program focuses on:
Our program is Solution Focused, guiding you as you look at the full spectrum of life and develop your unique plan for a joyous transition. Your past can be discussed, with healing in a healthy way, but our focus is on what works for you now. Joy, happiness, doesn’t just come, however. You’ve got to want to make a change in your life. You’ll have guided “homework” to help you take charge. You’re going to be asked to think deeply about your life, your goals, your hopes and dreams. Your today, and your tomorrows can ignite significant hope that will energize your mind, body, spirit and fellowship with other people.
Scott’s story in brief:
- Serving in mercy missions and teaching in Ethiopia and Vietnam, I’ve met a lot of people, and seen much struggle and despair. Please see Ethiopia-Empowerment.com … I believe that an important part of retirement is giving back, helping others by using the skills and knowledge we’ve learned through our life time.
- Stephen Ministry and Pastoral Counseling have taught me to have empathetic listening ear, and be an encourager to inspire others to find joy in retirement, and in life in general.
- Thinking about retirement years ago, I shook my head and said “no way,” I’m not doing the golf and beach thing until I die. I’d quickly pass away from boredom. So, after a good beach swim and round of golf (haha), I began to ponder what else might make a good life after leaving the mission field. A lot of ideas bounced around my head. But I kept coming back to coaching and helping others. That desire evolved into helping people transition into retirement.
